  • Authored strongest tenant protections law in the nation, more access to build affordable housing and enshrined reproductive freedom in California’s Constitution 

  • Secured $950 million to address homelessness statewide, providing critical resources directly to cities and counties 

  • Secured $53 million for Los Angeles’ “Youth Jobs Corps,” creating thousands of jobs for young people in our community

  • Secured $1.4 billion for small business and nonprofits grants, $50 million for micro-businesses, $150 million for small live event venues post COVID, and created tax credits for small businesses hiring homeless individuals

  • Secured millions of dollars for the restoration of the Los Angeles River, LA State Historic Park, El Rio de Los Angeles State Park, soccer fields and preservation of trails and hillsides

Wendy’s Plan for El Sereno 

  • Investment of Huntington Drive small businesses 

  • Preservation of Elephant Hill against illegal off-roading 

  • Secure safe, clean and well lit parks, streets and public spaces

  • Ensure longtime CalTrans tenants have a pathway to homeownership 

  • Build more affordable housing, provide rental assistance and legal support against unjust evictions

Wendy’s Plan for DTLA:

  • More mental health beds and shelter to immediately get our unhoused population indoors and receiving the critical resources they need

  • Add a second DTLA fire station as fire station #9 in Skid Row is the busiest in the nation. DTLA residents are in need a second station to help deliver the critical life saving services needed and shorten 911 response times 

  • 24 hour graffiti removal - zero tolerance on any and all graffiti

  • Prioritize economic development, public safety, support for businesses in partnership with all Business Improvement Districts (BIDs)

  • Support the revitalization of the Convention Center, Bringing Back Broadway, revitalize tourism

  • No encampments near schools, libraries or daycares

  • More citywide shelter beds and mental health programs

  • More parks, open space and afterschool programs 

  • Prioritize public safety and economic development for small business corridors including Colorado Blvd., York Blvd., Eagle Rock Blvd.

Wendy secured $1.5 million in the state budget for site improvements for the community center at the Women’s Twentieth Century Club historic home. She has secured millions of dollars in funding for parks, open space, prioritizing the revitalization of the LA River and the Arroyo Seco.

Wendy’s Plan for Boyle Heights 

  • Strong tenant protections against unjust evictions, provide legal representation to assist families in their language of choice

  • Support for small mom and pop landlords who are still suffering losses from COVID-19
    Prioritize affordable housing developments that meet the needs of community 

  •  Normalize general sidewalk repairs, tree trimming, trash pick-up alongside business corridors and power washing of sidewalks
    Clean and safe streets, with 24-hour graffiti removal

  • Fund the graffiti removal, revitalization and preservation of historic murals and street art

  • Prioritize economic development, public safety, support for small businesses alongside 1st Street, César Chávez Ave., and historic cultural sites like El Mercadito
